Sewing Box Restoration Mistake

You should avoid my mistake

I bought the sewing box for two reasons. Firstly, I wanted to give my daughter a present for Christmas because she loves sewing. On the other hand, working with Shellac has been on my to-do list for a long time.

The sewing box was a great object for me to try out Shellac. Unfortunately, the restoration didn’t go the way I wanted the result to be. Watch the video and see what went wrong.

In any case, I will need more exercises with Shellac to perfect this technique.

Despite everything, I think the result itself is very successful and the surface looks really nice, but as I said, of course different than expected.

If you have any tips on how to paint Shellac covers, I would also be very grateful. Take care, greetings Sascha.
